Battery and brake light always on
Anyone familiar with this problem and know the fix? The voltage is mid 14's at idle or while driving and the e-brake is all the way in. This is kinda annoying having them always on.
They are not on 100% but probably 50% brightness when the parking brake is fully pushed in

I know huh
I've measured a constant mid 14.4v even at idle. The engine is cold when I measure that though. I know a hot/operating temp voltage would be different..... I forgot
Either way, they are always on. Dim but on
Last night was the first night I drove this beast to my job since it's recent HG job, I drive to work at night and leave home when it's dark.... It's annoying.
I love driving my 2014 avalon or my 08 sequoia to work because they have features this truck doesn't have like power steering, a/c or even power windows (lol) but I enjoy driving this truck more

Yeah when those lights both came on in my truck it meant I had to replace my alternator. I drove around for a week and half fine though. I got no radio in my truck though and was mostly driving during the day with no headlights.

First things first.
A problem well-stated is a problem almost solved. What year Escalade are we dealing with?
Let's isolate problem first. If first-gen MoreFunner, remove Charge Fuse (7.5A) in fuse block. If both lights go out, then you're sure the issue is in the charging circuit.
IF first-gen MoreFunner both brake light and charge light coming on usually points to issue in charging system.
IF first-gen, here's how charging system works with suggested test points. Please take readings at suggested test points and let us know.
If reading at alt post (B) is within normal range, yet you have charge & brake lights on, then there's an issue with the alternator. Could be that regulator is seeing abnormal alternator output, say if one or more rectifier is bad or going bad.

That's in the fuse box on the driver side kick panel right?
I honestly don't remember if I have a fuse box in the engine compartment.
I'll try this today since I'm off today

IF 22R-E, the Charg fuse would be in engine compartment next to battery, you have an unusual config for an 87 so I'm not sure. IF anyone has FSM for an 87 with a 22R, that would greatly help.
