how old is your battery?
clean the terminals
does your truck stay on once you get it jumped?
if it was your alternator, then your truck would just die after a while because it would be running off of just battery.
at first glance i would say battery, get it tested

Did you short out your ground? Is there some way that there is a current draw on your battery now that you don't see? To me it sounds more like battery. Alternator is bad when the battery dies after running for a bit. Batter is the problem when it is dead after sitting for a bit (and there is some kind of current draw draining it while the truck is running)

true never thought of that, what would do that though? alarm system?

made me think of the time i let my mom move my rig and she forgot to press the lock button on top of ignition so the radio/battery ran all night
