Bad Fuel Pump ???.

Im almost done with my 86 4Runner, but now it has a new problem that started about two weeks ago, i can only drive it around my cousins property right now because its not registered yet, but it started acting like it was running out of gas and loosing power for a few seconds and then it would be fine for a short time and then do it again, and the throttle response is very gerky when its doing this. About two months ago i replaced the TPS, so i know its good, it also has new plugs, plug wires, cap/rotor, and fuel filter, so im thinking the fuel pump is on the way out, its the original fuel pump with over 200,000 miles on it, so does that sound right or is there something else i should check before i order a new fuel pump ?.

Have you checked the fuel filter??

Do you run the tank low often?

hesitation or stumble during acceleration.
1 ignition timing incorrect
ignition system not operating properly
2dirty or clogged injectors or carb
3 low pressure check for proper operation of the fuel pump and for restricions in the fuel filter and lines
4caburetor out of adjustment

The fuel filter is only about 3 months old and has less than 5 miles on it, and no i don`t run the tank low, but considering the fuel pump is 23 yrs old with over 200,000 miles on it, thats why i was thinking its going bad.

It just started doing this two weeks ago and before that everything was fine. Is there a way to test the ignitor ?.

I had to replace the fuel tank a few months ago, and the inside of the new tank was/is spotless, so i know its not that.

the only other thing i could think is maybe a bad intake leak like an engine surgewhile holding down the accelerator steady and it takes a big gulp of air
