Back window help

Got a 94 4R, the back window rolls down fine but doesn't want to roll up. When you turn the key I can hear the relay click every time I try, I have to try multiple times before it finally rolls up, does anyone know what could be wrong or how I should just bypass it some how? I hate wire work but it needs done because I use my window a good bit. Thanks guys.

You might want to figure out just what is wrong??

Does it do the same from both switches ??

Might be a old tired motor

Might be line loss voltage to low till it gets to the motor

When did you last lubricate the window regulator

It only does it when I try to roll it up, it will go down every time. But when I try to get it to go back up I got to keep turning the switch till I get lucky and decided to go up and it goes up strong and fast it is just getting lucky and hoping it goes up

Ok but my question was does it do the same thing from the switch on the console as well??

The contacts in the switch in the hatch do wear out maybe time for a new one.

No it does the same weather it be the switch up front or the key turn on the hatch, Iv tried wiggling the wires by the motor and I'm the guts of the window and by the relay and nothing seems to help. It just wants to work when it wants to, I'm no electrician so this is a huge pain in the ass

If you get some copy of the FSM, you can easily identify the final plug for the motor in the rear. You'll have to pull the cover and whatever that plastic sheet is called off. I'm got mine tore apart, and had to pull the gate off few days ago to attend to some rust issues. Put a couple of jumpers into the plug, and using a battery you can make it go up or down depending on polarity. If there's not any issue going direct, you can then assume you have some sort of harness issue. Also, as WYO suggests, you can also pull out the mechanism and clean and lubricate it properly.
