Back side window of extended cab window bolt?

I have a 93 extended cab and have a issue with one of the back side windows. Its missing one of the black circles that hold the glass in. All thats left in its place is a round hole with the threads of where the circle should screw into.

How do I go about replacing this? Its only got 2 in it currently and try not to use that window since the glass is pretty loose and rattles when on the highway.

Anyone ever had to do this before?

work

you are in for a lot of work

remove rear seat top trim, rear seat, hook, assist handle, door jamb trim, seatbelts, side trim panel

you will need a deep socket, looks to be 10mm for the hinges

there are "studs" that stick out, visible in the pics.

I think he's talking about the piece IN THE WINDOW ITSELF, not the bolt in the body....

contact Gary S. @ Newnan Toyota. They sell parts at @ 40% off to ToyotaNation & YotaTech members:

garys@toyotaofnewnan.com

They are VERY reasonable on their prices & shipping.

Use blue painters tape to hold in place so it dont rattle and cause it to break ,try a local automotive glass shop they should be able to help u, and parts should be pretty cheep, just dont tighten to tight .

Yeah im talking about the bolts that hold the glass itself in. From the outside you can see the 3 black round circles holding the glass in. Im just missing 1 of those.

The glass doesnt rattle when its closed but I havent been opening that one. Ill probably take it to toyota and see what they can do

drmix, were you able to find that part for your window? I need the exact same thing, with the bolt as well. Have been looking around town here and haven't had any luck.

Thanks for any help!

Yeah I picked it up at the dealership. All it is is a bolt that has a round backside to it which is what you see from the outside. The bolts got a square around it that is in between the round backside and the threads. Kinda hard to explain but once you get the bolt you will see.

To install it you need to take apart the plastic trim of your interior that goes around the window. Then you will see the nuts that attach to the special bolt you will get. You put the bolt in from the outside The square part of the bolt will stay in place since the glass has a square hole.

Its pretty easy took me probably 15 mins start to finish. Hope that helps but its pretty difficult to explain lol. If you want you can also get the bolt from a wrecking yard. Your best bet will be to find a pickup without the interior so you wont have to take it all apart

Awesome, I will give that a try. I think I can picture what you are describing, I'm sure it will make more sense once I get into it. Thanks for the reply! Wish me luck. :-)
