Oaky, so this is my deal.. I just got an 86 yoter pickup 4wd from a buddy of mine and we recently had to replace the front driver side wheel bearings. Well, we got everything put back together, new bearings and all, and I cannot for the freggin life of me get the axle shaft to pull out of the hub far enough to get the retention clip and washer to pop into the groove. We put a new seal on the back side of the assembly and there seems to be a small gap between the CV boot and the back of the knuckle assembly. Any ideas? It's snowing and sleeting like a b**ch here and I need me some 4wd. Oh, and also. He said he had a lot of problems with the clips popping off in the past, but he was pretty rough in it before I bought it. Any other thoughts as to why this would be an ongoing problem? Anyone else experience this? Thanks guys!
