Autotragic linkage adjustment?
Ok, so when i got my 4runner, there was the telltale auto shifter slop. After $3.xx in cheap plastic bushings, i fixed that, but i am still having a little trouble where it seems to never be definitively in a gear, and more specifically requires coaxing to get into park sometimes. I remember seeing somewhere on here to make sure that the linkage was in adjustment, but now that i need it, i cant find it. Thanks to Scooba, i should have an entire shifter ass'y waiting on me at home this evening, but it seems that either way I should check/adjust the linkages as well while I'm under there. Anyone know the "correct" way to adjust the shift linkages? And for the record, I have spent the last hr or so looking for the procedure.

Uh, where did you look?
I don't know which transmission you have, so here's the manual pages for all of them:
