Auto to manual swap

So Im getting ready to swap my 85 over from auto to a manual transmission. I found a w56 (I believe to be a C) at the junk yard in a 91 pickup. Although it has the forward shift T-case. Would I still be able to use it as 85-88 used top shift t cases?

I have a 95 tranny/t-case in my 87. You shouldn't have any problems. I did have to trim the hole in my floorboard to clear the shifters, as they are a little farther forward than my original shifters. Good luck with your project.

Did you need to get different shift boots or change the interior pieces?
Thanks

My 4Runner was missing the original trim around the shifters, and the boots were in bad shape, so I built a custom cover for the tunnel, and used an ammo can for the console. It's actually still a work in progress, since I haven't added the cupholders yet.....doh. It will be done soon, however.

Got any pictures?
So if I did this swap I would probably need the boots and trim piece from the 91 correct?

No pics yet. I will add them to my thread when I finish the cupholders next week.

I'd say using the trim and boots from the 91 would be easy enough for your swap.

I got engine and tranny from 89 with 111,000 miles. snaged crossover from manual heard crossover from auto won't work and about everything to do the swap ie clutch pedal, slave cyclinder got a pretty good deal on all of it. Cant wait to start maybe we can learn from each other this will be my first major project.

Mine came out of a 91. Not sure how many miles. Are you talking about the crossmember? From what Ive read, the crossmember itself is the same but the rubber mount is different. Im doing dual cases at the same time
