Auto or Manual? it is my question
swap resources - - -
California Air Resources Board contact information and website:
www.dca.ca.gov dca@dca.ca.gov 800-952-5210
1625 N. Market Blvd Sacramento, CA 95834
Swap Rules:
1. Must use same year or newer
2. If original vehicle is CA Emmission equipped, so must be donor vehicle.
3. All original emmission equipment.
also: cannot modify engine to make it to fit.
all after-market goodies must have an EO# (executive order #)and listed with CARB.
http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php
i was also advised, after spending 25 minutes on the phone with a tech advisor, that documentation is vital to a smooth and headach free visit with the referee. to have all info on all the changes and additions made to the vehicle(in regards to engine/emission) will prove well worth the homework and paper-chasing.
now onto my question:
I AM SWAPPING THE 3.0 FOR THE 3.4 - not a debate as to whether or not, the benefits of, costs or anything like that. no need to start a new mod/swap debate. it's goin down, end of story.
so....i have the opportunity to also swap in an auto tranny but wanted some input on that. i have a 5spd and never considered an auto til a conversation i had with someone. it is my daily driver, plan to keep her forever, plan to SAS, and most of the wheeln will be trails/rocks/beach....
pros / cons of going auto?
and i don't wanna argue about what rule you agree or disagree with, that's not the topic, call and inquire if you don't like, but don't kill the carrier or mame the messenger. -
