ATM transmission flush question

I have a 86 4runner with 200000 mi on it. I just had my torque converter and pump replaced but I'm sure it was filled with standard fluid and I would like to go with synthetic. should I do a flush ???

I wouldn't spend the time or money to flush it with synthetic. Clean gear oil is good gear oil. I also don't recommend switching to synthetic on high mileage vehicles. Usually that applies to motor oil, but since the transmission has seals and such as well, I wouldn't recommend it.

I would just run it with the fresh gear oil!

No, you'll wash out the clutch material... And if they're wore enough, they'll stick...

I hate tranny flushes, or even changing the fluid... My skin crawls every time b/c I never know if that was the "too much".

I'm sure it would, but the question to me is how much ground has your AT covered since 1986? i.e it's not in like new condition...

If it's been rebuilt disregard anything I've said...
