Araaagghhh - Wire snapped off of sensor
So I put a new thermostat in my 87 22re today, while I was removing the sensor that connects to the tube coming up from the thermostat, the wire totally separated from the white connector, which connects to what I assume is a temperature sensor.
I could still see some wire in the top, so I dropped some solder in there carefully and then soldered the wire back onto the connector, but I don't think that's gonna hold up to well, as there wasn't really anything holding the solder on there.
Any suggestions for a better fix?

Maybe a blob of JB Weld around the top of the connector / over the solder might do the trick. But then I'm truly screwed if the connection doesn't hold up!

It's just a single wire going into a connector, which then connects to the temp sensor. You're right tho, I could probably remove the sensor, then solder some wire to the contact inside. Then just connect my new wire to the existing wire. Use some silicon to keep out any water.
