anything else i should check or be the problem?

just bought a 1989 22re 5sp 4x4 stock ex cab
this is what its doing for example:
when your driving and slow down to a stop/clutch pressed in, and still in gear then when you come to a complete stop truck starts jerking and jumping as if it wants to stall and you feel big clunk!. okay, now when coming to a stop clutch pressed in, and in neutral truck is fine and doesn't act like it wants to stall.when cranking up truck is hard to get into 1st or rev(grinds) so i know this seems like a newbie question but i just want some opinions for the possible problems.

im at work now so when i get home im going to trouble shoot starting with most obvious things first. pleas let me know of anything else you think could be the problem....

1-put in floor mats clutch pedal may be hitting and not getting fully engaged/disengaged
2- check fluids
3-bleed slave cylinder
4-replace slave cylinder
5-thinking maybe synchronizer in trans? hope not...

it not going into gear... maybe bushing on end or shifter? the pins in top of trans starting to get wore out...

any thoughts would be appreciated thanks

i would check you master cyl, slave cyl and all the lines. had a similar issue on my toy and it turned out the flared end of the hard line that goes into the slave cylinder had crack and was bleeding off under pressure.

Just had the same problem on Nissan Pathfinder and it turned out to be the slave. The slave cost me a total of 13 dollars at Orielly's and took about an hour to change. Fixed the problem and made the clutch feel like new.

It's not a bad idea to check the clutch master as well. Verify it's not leaking fluid inside the cab, where the rod connects to the pedal(in that area). Same design and principle as a brake master, so it can leak in the cab same as a brake master...

I think I would also check the pedal bracket, they fail often

x2; you'll have to get under the dash & push the clutch down while looking to see if it's cracked. It probably won't appear to be unless under pressure.

Update

checked bracket looks good, replacing slave and master cylinder this weekend but ran into new symptom that seems to have nothing to do with either..... now when i come to rolling stops with truck in neutral i get the same halting, jerking, stop like when i apply my brakes maybe my rear brakes are locking up? i dunno what it is now it doesn't do it all the time just seems when i roll to stop in 1st truck like slams on brakes with me barley applying pressure and now it does it with truck out of gear too.... i just lightly braking to a stop and it feels like i just droped it in 1st the whole back end like lifts up and truck comes to a halting jerky stop..... cant figure it out if it does in neutral should have nothing to do with slave, master, or clutch right?????

Perform an exorcism on your truck. It's haunted.

check your rear brakes for a leaking wheel cylinder or axle grease seal leak. If either fluid saturates the shoes it will cause them to lock up

I have had the same issue before on other vehicles and never figured it out.... I hope you find the source of your problem and let us all know what the outcome was so I can finally try it on my vehicle
