well i guess it can be considering drag racing, but not going to turbo tho, i know some races turbos arent allowd . so thats why i wanted to stay away from that if i my truck ever makes it that far.

DOA has them too. But I think the price is high like LCE. Web Address: http://www.doaracingengines.com/
I loved my '94 2wd. 30 mpg and tough/sporty truck. Carolla turned left in front of me and insurance totaled. I let it go... Damn it.

Sounds like you should have taken the BLUE PILL... Haha, welcome to the real world.

You can get to about 135-140 easy enough though. I'm thinking that I'm somewhere around 130-135, and might be able to hit 140 with a good header on it. All in all though it just runs like a 22RE that is having a good day all the time. I wouldn't say it is night and day at all from the way it was in its stock form. I'm happy with it, but also convinced that if you want to feel more power the answer is a 350 small block swap.

Here's a good read from engnbldr on the 22RE:
http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showfl...5&o=14&fpart=1

If you consider a swap, Downey has a free book they'll send you with all the info you need to pull it off. It's a great starting place and will open your eyes to things you never considered concerning it.

22re = fast Oxymoron.

And I call BS on 500hp. The only thing that would maybe be left Toyota would be the block. 500hp on 2 valves per cylinder................

400hp out of a NA engine is the most I have heard of. Had like 14 to 1 custom piston from JE, stroked, bored, custom head work etc.

you could buy a 5.7 out of a new tundra with a supercharger for alot less than it would cost to build a 500 horse 22r
