Any custom painted 2nd gen Runners?

Hey I'm looking to paint my 2nd gen sometime soon, I want something different but I haven't seen many 2nd gen 4Runners with new paintjobs, so does anyone have any pics or suggestions?

A buddy of mine works at an offroad truck shop and does paint and can cut me a very good deal, but I have no clue what color? Thanks

My Buddy just painted his 93 Dark Olive Metallic Green ...and with his black accessories, tire cover, and black soft 8's, ..it looks REALLY NICE.

For some reason, I really love Silver or that Darker metallic Burgundy on these. ....But like I said, my buddies Green is REALLY nice.

PS> The dark olive green is an older, stock, chevy color. He stole the idea from my 70 CST Blazer..........

I think matte black/olive drab looks really good for some reason.
I guess I should call the matte black look "murdered out" nowadays...

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I do like the matte olive green idea, my neighbor has a matte black and gray Chevy truck that I've always liked the looks of (because of the paint), but I think that the matte olive would look nicer with my black accessories, plus I have a picture of an olive matte 2nd gen, its chopped, but I get the idea, even has the same brush guard as mine.

And Chef, my current 4Runner is the metallic burgandy, I call it more crimson though, but the paint has oxidized, fortunately though its a pretty even oxidization so it doesn't look bad, looks matte burgundy, almost on purpose. I might wax it and return it to metallic. That metallic olive green looks like it'd be pretty nice too, I'd really like to see a picture of that.

Ps: nice Blazer man

Yeah, had to sell the Blazer to pay for College in 98 , hahaha. S'ok, served it's purpose. The green my buddy chose was like mine, rather than the stock medium/dark green that comes with your year trucks. I think it looks a lil better. Unfortunately, he's back in OR, so I don't have it to take pics of. Never even thought to take any, but I'll ask him to join, haha.

You can see the green, somewhat, on the hood, but that's not the best pic,..sorry. I have some others, but I'd have to find em.

Scroll down a lil bit.........

If the accessories are a flat type of black I would go with a real color. Then you would look thug and "murdered out" IMO. I think a flat silver or OD green would look good.

My vote is for matte olive drab with the black accents.
I've always liked that look.

Check out ocdropzone's Trekker build-up.

my accessories are kinda flat black, don't have much right now though, just bought it (my first car). I have a Toyota brush guard, roof rack, and spare tire mount, that's how I bought it.
My buddy thinks it came as a package since the brush guard is Toyota, idk though.

Thanks Fink. I was actually just checking out ocdropzone's build thread, I too like the flat olive/tan. My only concern is it'll probably ruin the value if I ever decide to sell it for an 80's pickup. But boy would it look gnarly haha

Not if you found the right buyer.
