Another Zuk Mod question thread

Eh guys quick question bout the zuk mod for my 90 pickup

Although my rear-end is not saggy, it does sag when i load it up with 250lbs of ice and 200lbs of gear. My rear set up is 1.5" over shackles and skyjacker 4" leafsprings. The leaf springs are only rated to around 450lbs load capacity. Im looking for a fix to the sag. I considered the air bags but i have friends who say their bags seperated when the rear flexed. I also considered having leaves added to the pack but im imagining their going to be expensive.

So here i am with the zuk mod. Did lots of research and found mostly people doing the mod on stock vehicles or vehicles with only lift blocks. Found nothing on someone doing it with lift springs installed. know of anyone?? and what size/length spring did they use??

THANKS!!

I have not done the zuk mod, but since you are just trying to increase load capacity you could try the same length springs (or a little taller) that others are using. Measure and make sure they will fit correctly.

I haven't done it, either, but I have read that people use factory J**p TJ front coil springs to get the lift. I'm not sure about the load capacity increase, but I'm sure it would help considering that they are used on the front of the J**p where the engine is.

i think 225s will be too stiff everyday,i did the 145s on mt 89 4runner and it was perfect, probably could have went with 125s.if i were you ,i would try the front tj springs without trimming them first.tj springs fit over the the upper and lower bumpstops with no cuuting.search tj spring zuk mod for details.no modding to your truck and theyre really cheap off flebay, ive seen em go for $40 shipped!!

I just put new springs on my 88PU (4wheelparts specials $109 ea.) and it took the sag out but unless there's 2-300 lbs in the back it rides like shat and looks like a 4" lift on the back. I need to bump the front up a little to level it out now and throw some junk in the trunk to tame the ride out.
