Nice score. Don't part that. It screams for a 3.4L swap.
I would have been all over that as well. Other than the fact that its an A/T, its a ultra clean 4runner. SAS it, swap in a 3.4L and drive it into the ground. Or, sell it to someone who will.
I'll trade you a running, driving 89' in return straight across for it. LOL

haha, that thing is amazingly clean for 500! Bet you wouldn't be able to get one up here that clean for under 4K ( I don't recall ever seeing a first gen 4Run for sale). I'm biased cause I love keeping my Toyotas stock, but please don't hack that thing up!

Is it in a complete car , I would need the complete car , To much of a hassle and headache peicing a swap together.
Really to be honest I am not ready to do a swap right now .
Some friends and I are looking at renting a shop for us to play in right now , after I fix the timing belt on this thing it will have to wait a while for anything else to happen to it.
I still have the 88 that needs my attention with some more work.
No no hacking gonna happen here.. and thanks .

Thanks , and no chopping ..
Well I finally got around to working on this thing , dont have the timing belt yet ..
I never really tried to start this thing (dead battery) and I just took the sellers word for the timing belt being broken . I really did not care if it was running since I only wanted this truck for parts for my other runners and to make a few dollars.
But after looking it over some more, I decided to get it running, well the first thing that I found was the spark plug wires were on wrong , fixed that ,then I saw the radiator was empty so I filled it.
I then tried to start it ,it would crank ( Not timing belt) I could smell gas then I checked for spark and it looked good .
So I checked the oil cap and found no water under it , I checked the radiator again and it was empty so I looked under the truck and found the water coming out of the back end of the cat.
So this motor has a bad headgasket or cracked heads or both , This is what Im thinking .
Now what to do , should I still fix this or what ?
I am going to take the motor out and just do a visual on it to see If I can find anything . then make decision on what the fate of this truck will be..

Man, I would love to take this off your hands. Even given the new issues.
FWIW, if coolant is pouring out of the exhaust like that, I would lean more towards a major internal issue than a bad gasket.
If for some reason you decide to dump it, please let me know. I have plenty of guys local enough to come get it for me until I can pick it up. I will definitely do it justice.
