Anothe headgasket question

I was just wondering if it is at all possible to replace the headgasket without removing the intake and exhaust manifolds? All the parts places don't have a whole gasket set just the headgasket. And it being the long weekend they can't order till Tuesday. All I want to do is install my 261 crawler cam but I don't trust the gasket.

it's possible, but quite heavy. and you risk damaging the headgasket if you don't set the head down dead on the first time.

Just wait and order a complete gasket set. While it would be "cool", don't risk having to redo all the work for what really, doesn't take to long to do. Go ahead and tear everything down now, label everything and get to cleaning what needs to be cleaned. By the time things are cleaned and head has been resurfaced (if needed), gasket set will be there are your ready to button it up.
