air intake problem
alright so the the other night i got a bomz cold air intake off ebay for $30(piece of dookie by the way) and put it on ghetto rigged the out of it to make it fit and didnt like it so i ripped it out and put the old setup back in. now it will idle but everytime i hit the throttle it will die or sufficate and then just crank and wont start i disconnected the mass air flow sensor or air flow meter(people argued about the name on another post i dont care i just know what it does) and it will start and dies so i think its the mass air flow but i kinda want conformation before i spend 200$ on a new one at vatozone. anyone have any input?

yeah it wont run at all with the AFM disconnected (it's AFM btw ) lol
it just sounds to me like what myyota suggested; maybe one of the hose clamps is loose or the connection isn't on all the way, or maybe in the process of removing it the first time the elbow ripped?
yeah and all the aftermarket intake kits suck... the stock Toyota Pickup/4Runner AFM just makes it hard to do much with...
been there, done that...
ripped it out and put the stock setup back in too, lol
most people swap out for a Supra AFM; search that if you're that content on a custom intake

i got mine at the junk yard for free not one problem and the best way to make a good intake is tear the box out get a PVC cap to put on the muffler box hole and put the adapter plate on the air flow sensor then put on K&N or i use Spector! WORKS GREAT!!!
