Aftermarket seats

I am sick of my bench seat in my 88 regular cab and I am looking for some good, not terribly expensive bucket seats. I would LOVE to get my hands on a pair of the OEM Recaro surf seats, so my first question is where can you get those for sale...? Secondly if you have aftermarket buckets tell me any info you think I should know about them and if you recommend them. I don't need brackets because I have the resources to make custom brackets.

Junkyard/ebay.

I have Supra/Celica seats in mine with the adjustable air bladder lumbar support and they are awesome! Also have the huge side bolsters that hug you...can pretty much adjust everything to fit your body.

I would avoid anything Corbeau. The Quality is suspect IMO. I went through a phase back in 2010 and wanted to get rid of my SR5 Buckets seats because they were torn to hell and one of my brackets broke. And of course, I find myself here in 2012 crawling back buying 93 SR5 bucket seats from junkyards. Went through the Corbeau Baja SS, comfortable, but you need to wear a cup in order to get in your rig unless you wanna get clipped. It was a PITA to get in and out of your ride. And of course, Corbeau sport seats. I could never adjust to the aftermarket feel. Corbeau sport seats were the closest to stock, but they still failed. I had my corbeau brackets customized to sit flush, and because of the seat I was still sitting higher than stock which wasn't comfortable.

After going though all of this, if you can land some SR5 bucket seats from a junkyard and customize them to your 88, you're good to go. Aftermarket is a huge waste of money. I scored a clean pair for 75 bucks a piece from a junkyard advertising on car-part.com

I too am looking to replace my tore up bench, but I'm looking around for some low backs. I think the right ones will go well with tube doors and turning/looking around, etc...
