After replacing O2 senor & TPS

Do you have to do something to the computer on a 1995 22RE pickup so it reads the new parts?

Or is it just plug and play

You should pull the efi fuse for a couple minutes and let the ecus memory reset.

Did you set the tps per the FSM?

as close as I could---could not get all test to fall in spec

test one VTA-E2 400 ohms
test two IDL-E2 15 ohms
test three IDL-E2 open
test four VTA-E2 3000 OHMS

Those values are probably close enough, but it could probably take another few tenths of a degree. eg it'll run a little lean but nothing the computer can't handle.

It'll also take awhile for it to self tune after resetting the computer. You need to reset the computer(pull the EFI fuse) to clear the stored codes. Don't forget to retrieve any stored codes before you reset.

Check idle and ignition timing, it's not exactly needed but can't hurt.

I tried to set it closer but could not achieve higher olms on test #4 no matter how far I turned it. Test #2 jumped from open to 15 olms.

Truck starts and runs fine but wants to die at idle when in gear. I set the throttle stop a quarter turn as described in FSM. If I screw in the stop a 1/2 or 3/4 turn the truck will stay running at idle. Can it be turned in more than a 1/4 turn or do I have another problem??

Check& set the idle and timing, you pretty much never need to adjust the throttle stop. Adjusting the stop screw opens the plate, you don't want the plate opened at idle. adjust the idle with the idle screw,(Big flat bladed screw on the top front of the throttle body)

for picture if you need one.

adjusted idle up 75rpm to 750. I checked the timing and it was set at 5 degrees already. After a test drive truck doesn't seem to die as much, but while sitting at a stop light in gear sometimes it will. It is still pretty cold here in Iowa, could that have an affect?

Thanks for all your help.

Keep adjusting Idle speed is higher for and A/T 850 rpm. And just to be clear you put the throttle stop screw back where it belongs and adjusted the "Idle speed adjustment screw" right,(or maybe just used the wrong term and never really moved the stop screw)?
