Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I've got an aftermarket audiovox alarm on my 95 4 runner. I've had it for about a month. The first week the alarm would chirp when I would arm and disarm. And the red light on the dash would go on and off when I would arm and disarm.

Now when I arm/disarm the alarm the doors lock/unlock but the chirping is no more and the red light on the dash is constantly on all the time.

I've tried switching the valet switch back and forth with no change. I did disconnect the battery at one point to clean the terminals but everything was reconnected the same way it had been before.

Any thoughts?

On my autopage alarm you can program it to chirp or not to chirp. As for the LED, it tells me the alarm status by the type of flash. If you dont have the owners manual, maybe you can download it.
