Afm help please
I have a 1993 22re just did the timing chain and the HG. First start up the truck would just cut out after a few seconds. After using the search tool i decided to check the AFM, when I put a screwdriver in there to hold the flap open with the key turned to "on" I can hear the fuel pump kick on. Truck starts and runs rich with the screwdriver holding the flap open, as soon as I remove the screwdriver the truck dies. I know the AFM is the problem? How do I fix it to I just replace it? I never removed the AFM or air box during the rebuild so not sure how it got messed up? Please help this is my DD and I need to on the road ASAP

After I bought mine it dies on the way back and did the screw driver trick on MAFM after confirming the the fuel pump was not the problem and truck started right up, so while at salvage yard I got a new used MAFM from a wreaked truck for 20 bucks, it must have worked or truck wouldn't have been wreaked, I hope that takes care of my problem after I get motor together soon, already saving for a new one just in case, do you have a buddy with same truck? Check personally or call around at some local salvage yards find one and try that, a new MAFM is almost $400 bucks, toyotapartzone is a place I check for parts and part numbers and prices to take to dealer...
