95 runner auto auto transmission replacement
Hey everyone, my first post here on yotatech. I been searching for a answer to my dilemma and maybe some out there can help.
I have a 95 4runner, completely stock, auto, 4x4, 3vze. My transmission slips the moment I drove off from the old owners house. The transmission was low on fluid. I ran the truck till the temp gauge was at normal operating temp. I put the transmission through all the gears for about 5 seconds each, placed back in park and filled oil level till the hot line on the dip stick. Transmission was still slipping, a little less though. I went ahead and aded another quart. The fluid was past the hot mark and no change in driving.
I drained and pulled the pan to check the filter, and th filter looked clean. Reinstalled the pan. Add 2 quarts of lucas transmission fix with the rest of the fluid. The transmission didnt slip so bad anymore. Then I helped my parents move and towed a small trailer... now my tranny slips even worst then before.
There are no codes being thrown, it feels like a slipping clutch. Freeway it runs through all the gears, no bad solenoids. Hills are killer, especially from a stop.
Someone is selling me a auto transmission from a 22rte. I like to keep it auto so my wife can drive it.
1. When replacing a with a older transmission, do I lose out on my add for the 4x4, and do I need to convert my electronic speedo to cable?
