95 3vze intermittent power loss when I press the clutch
This problem has been killing me, and it only seems to happen when the truck is warm. I'll typically start it and drive it normal for about a minute, then when I press the clutch while turning a corner it will just die and I will have to either pop the clutch (easier to get it running again) or crank it while playing with the gas pedal. Then it is hard to start and feels very sluggish while trying to accelerate for a few minutes. There are no check engine codes popping up, and my CEL light does work. It only runs like this about 20% of the time. When it does it looses speed uphill and stalls as I mentioned. It does't feel shaky like a misfire does, it just feels like an even power reduction. Other than this the truck has been solid and very reliable.
What I've done since the problem started:
all vacuum hoses (even the p/s pump ones)
EGR vacuum valve
fuel filter
distributor cap and wires
MAF sensor spray cleaner
TB spray cleaner
Checked timing with a timing light
What I did before the problem started:
my friends distributor went out in their 4runner, so I put my distributor in and drove my car until a new one came in. Then I swapped my old distributor back and put the new one in their 4runner. A few weeks after this I noticed it running like I mentioned. But I do let it sit a lot and drive my car around most of the time, so the problem could be from just the truck sitting.
I have no engine mods. It is a typical 95 3vze toyota manual 4wd pickup.
