94 p/u speedometer probs???

Ok, first off.... 1994, 4wd, 22re, 5speed. My speedometer, nor odometer has never worked since I've owned this truck. I read some threads on here today, just came back in from checking the sensor on the tranny. The gears look fine, I was wondering if there is a way to zero out the sensor as the prob, b4 I went and bought another, OR do you guys think it may be something else, THANKS

theres wires that run all the way back from the intruments to your tranny which is where the sensor is located i had the same problem only my wires were disconnected or stripped in half however you want to put it but anyways the sensor was still good

the older ones are cable driven, the newer one are electric, not sure of the year they changed. I had a 86 w/ this same problem, but w/ any easy fix(replace the cable)

Hmmm, that's funny because my '95 T4R has a dry @ss speedo cable that sings to beat the band for the first 15 minutes I drive it when it is really cold.

90-94 or something like that were electronic, they went back to cable after that. You're saying your odometer still works?
