94 with the 3.0 smoking and running ruff
My son just changed the plenum gasket on my 94 pickup the other day he had torn into it before and had found a lot of carbin build-up and oil all around but no sign of antifreeze ( he had it apart when he changed the valve cover gaskets ) well he had put it back together before he got the gasket and the third time he started it smoked and started to run ruff so it sat for a while and now he is back to work on it , over the winter he had started it off and on and didn't smoke then but now before and after the new gasket its smoke looks like white smoke with maybe a hint of color ( gray ? )the oil is full and the antifreeze seems to be about the same and can't see anything in oil or water , now the check eng. light is on and doesn't seem to want to run any clue ? i know before i thought it might be a headgasket when i first got this truck but alot of people thought it could be something else , there really isn't any sign of a headgasket at least by everything i have ever been told to look for so what do you guys think is wrong ? i know some vac. lines will need to be replace and maybe that has something to do with the ruff running but the smoking ? Thanks
