94 3.0 auto loss of power
ok so last weekend I had to to my little boat home so I could sell it it was a 16 ft alum boat with tiller motor ( light enough I push around in drive )
well on way home the runner seemed to have little power it was all I could do to get going 80 km/hr
well I thought it was maybe something with trailer or something
this weekend i picked up my new boat and towed it home it's bigger/heavier but once again no power was all I could do to get it home
it seems to be going through fuel alot to but I have no amounts for this
looking for ideas as to what to look at
the light is on in dash but have not checked codes I want to clear it and see if it returns as it has been on for a week
it had been off untill about 3 weeks ago and it came on after it sat and idled for long time
any clues would be great

ok i'm going to work at this today
i'm thinking it might be knock sensor wires or sensor
can you relocate this sensor so its not under the intake
it's just a thought to avoid the time it will take to pull intake to change
it's my daily driver and i work out side and its getting cold

Some on this forum seem to have claimed that attaching a knock sensor to the lifting hook might work; I just have a hard time believing that (why would Toyota put it in such a central location if it just didn't matter?) If you try it, please do let us know if it works. Or not.
Note that the knock sensor itself is pretty tough; your code is most likely due to a wiring problem, most likely the pigtail. Still a PITA to repair, as the lower intake manifold has to come off.
