93 yota 4 cylinder
Sorry for asking without searching
I am in Nicaragua with my brother in law and I only have about two day left.
His truck makes a bad noise when you let off the gas pedal and coast or when you push in the clutch and let it roll
The higher the speed the louder it gets.
I an thinking throw out bearing
I have the tools here to do this but I am looking for ideas of things to check
Kinda one shot try if I pull the transmission. Will take half of a day to find a new one.
No napa here

On my 91 I would hear a little ping sound.
Since I had already replaced the clutch and everything that does with it I new it was probably the bearing s
The ping turned out to a very poud chirping sound. Also was when I would let off the gas
Thanks I will take it off tomorrow
Only problem is finding new bearing

I'm curious, what parts did you need and where did you find them down there? Just asking because I don't know and am intrigued by all these yotas in foreign countries. Thanks and have a safe trip home!

The parts that I needed to fix the driveshaft were the two u joints. I guess that is what they are called.
Had to rent a grease gun.
I needed a starter but could not find one.
See in Nicaragua most everything u buy is diesel. So is is hard to get parts for a gas burner like mine.
But the diesel Toyotas are jam up. The Toyota land cruiser is 40 k. Beautiful. 6 cylinder 4 wd and will goaanyway
We had a hilux ten years ago. I loved it. 4 cylinder diesel four wd manual lock in hubs pos rearend. Came with two piece rims and mud grip tires.

You and me both.
U would have to change a couple of things
Well not sure about the 2014 models but the one I had and same for my sister in laws truck. At 100 km per hour it turns 3000 rpm.
Also no heater. Lol
Other than that I think it is allot better truck than what we have.
Heck it is hard to get a 6 with a five speed

[QUOTE=rancherman;52181581]yep, a ping snap or chirp upon accelerating or decelerating is usually a u joint. aka CROSS AND BEARING CAP. Glad to see you found parts!
Thanks. I wish I had more time to explore on this sight
Always get help from some very nice people
I had did this on my 91 in November so at least it was easier this time

well January 2016 my father In law died so we had to make an emergency trip to Nicaragua. ended up staying their a week. we got their at 6am and the funeral was at 9am.
so a day or so later after spending time with my brother in law who owns the Toyota that I was asking about, I decided to try and figure out what the noise was coming from the rear of his truck.
after asking around for about a day I found a guy that had a complete axle for $300
I told him I would trade axles and give him $150
first he would not go for it but after a while he agreed.
so four hours later we are driving around in the Toyota with no noise at all.
what ever was wrong with the truck it was in the rear end. I think that the pinion was missing some teeth or something.
