93 extended cab driveshaft question

I have a 93 22re 4x4 extended cab DLX. I have replaced the carrier bearing 3 times now. All of them wearing out and becoming sloppy. My question is that Is it possible to make the 2 pc drive shaft into a one pc?

Suspension altercations are
Rear add a leaf
Front cranked up torsion bars

Thanks

There was a thread a while back on this. I believe it ended up being the pinion bearing going out in the 3rd member.

Also he found out the pinion bearing was bad after he had a one piece driveshaft made and still had a bad vibration.

Well the vibrations are from my carrier bearing. I can move it about 1/2 inch up and down. I get it replaced and its silky smooth then within a short time is bad again. I would like to do away with it all together.

That's what this other guy's problem was, it was eating carrier bearings so he done away with the 2 piece, and still had vibrations. See if your pinion bearing is bad before you spend several hundred dollars on a one piece driveshaft.

The answer:

Yes you can run a 1 piece driveshaft.

is there one that will just bolt on? I don't think so. I know on trucks a one piece can be used if you're using a dual case off a 4Runner, but without that extra length, probably wont work.

Its not expensive to get a custom driveshaft with a flex/cv joint made. Mine cost me about 120 to be sleeved, and a CV joint added on my 4Runner.

Good luck.
