93 22RE Starting Issues

I have a 1993 Toyota Pickup. 4wd 22RE. I am having a starting issue. The other day I got back from an 8 hour work shift to start it and it would turn over fine but wouldn't start. I didn't want to run my battery down so I called a friend and we bought some starter fluid. It started up after a bunch and seemed to run ok. After I parked at home I test started it and sure enough it ran fine. My diagnosis was that it was below 0 with wind chills

I put some heet in the fuel tank and took a 4 hour trip for the weekend. No problems with it starting even after a day of sitting.

Now a few days later and no heet in the fuel I have had an issue again. I went and worked a 6 hour shift and the above problem happened again. It started after spraying a ton of starter fluid and ran fine after i gave it some gas.

What in the world. This seems random. Can anybody help me out?

On the side I will mention two issues since I replaced the headgasket and timing chain about 5000 miles ago.

#1 it idles around 2300 even after it is warm.
#2 the fuel pressure gauge reads that it is close to "low" but I don't remember if it was always in that area since I have had it. It just turned over 200,000 and i bought it around 150,000

Someone please help.
