92 P/U new long block many trouble codes

Hi new here need some help. 92 toy p/u 22re motor no air 5 spd. A friend blew a head gasket lots of water thru the cat and muffler. Significant amount in sump.I installed a rebuilt long block got it running after replacing both o2 sensors to clear a 21 code. It was running well I adjusted the valves set the timing checked the hoses. the truck ran well till today. It now has trouble codes as follows 21, 27, 43, 52. I am doing this as a favor. It is now long past favor.

Many codes may be the ECU. Buddy of mine payed for a a few sensors to be replaced only to fork out a grand for a new ECU. Just an idea. This was on a FORD though.

That has been my thought as well just hoping for a simple cheap fix cheap not happening though.

How long did it run before the codes? And did you clear them to see if any came back?

Hey dude, ...sorry you're dealing with the 'CODE GREMLINS'! .... I HATE EM! lol.

I would suggest not to keep spending your cabbage on parts, any further, before you dig a lil deeper.

Since you swapped in a new motor, it's quite possible that something is either not connected or some vacuum apparatus is missing a hose, whatever, and any of that can cause the ECU to go wacky and try to adjust things via the sensors, which then turn wackier by trying to adjust and therefore screwing even more up...(because those kinds of things are usually due to unmetered air or missing connection/faulty or compromised connection).

I would go through all the connections, meticulously, especially the EGR system, and try to rule out anything being unplugged/etc.. But first, clear all the codes as was suggested...

A 91-94(whatever it is) ECU in almost any yard will run you around 75$.... I'd try to swap in a known working one, first, if that's even the issue.

It ran well for several hours,cleared the codes many times they all come back.
I was told that coolant through the cat and through the o2 sensors can ruin them does anyone have a correct answer for this one. When the owner brought the truck to me coolant was pouring out of the catalytic converter, muffler etc..
replaced engine with rebuilt long block, replaced o2 sensors, bad hoses, plugs and plug cables, dist cap and rotor.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the 'wrong' 02 Sensors went in there.(I know, not likely, but just have to throw it out there as they can be different from different years??? ) I had an issue with the 'code' thing due to swapping in a donor ECU that was supposed to be from an 87, which my truck is, and it was actually an 89 that needed 2 02's and had a different knock sensor set up.

Maybe the massive flow of fluids down there wound up steaming out the TPS and even caused a short in the ECU's No.10 and No.20 pins in the ECU or something like that?
