I'm trying to adjust the cables for the Air Conditioning control assembly and the way the 1990-1995 4Runner FSM shows to adjust isn't working. When I set the control to the position it says and make sure the rocker system on each component is in the right spot, the cable simply won't reach.
Has anyone with a '92 adjusted the cables successfully??
Is the manual telling me the wrong control position?

I got a solution, the opposite of the manual instructions was the correct adjustment procedure for me. For the temperature control I put it on warm and made sure the corresponding component was in the right place as well then popped the cable into the clip. For the zone selector I put it on the upper vents. Set it to recirculate instead of fresh air. The water valve adjustment is correct in the manual. This is what I have run in to with my buddy's '92 4Runner. Just got the dash put back together tonight.
