'91 Truck clutch problem
I've got a '91 Truck. It's a 2wd with the 22RE and 5 speed trans only at 88k miles. When I depress the clutch pedal it stops halfway to the floor like there is an invisible barrier there. I can move the shifter between gears but it acts as if nothings happening like shifting when the truck is off; no grinding, engagement etc... I know it's not the pilot or throwout bearing and the clutch itself was still good when it worked. That leads me to believe it could be the master or slave cylinders or could it be the fork. Has anyone had any problem or dealt with a situation like this before? any info would be greatly appreciated.

How do you know it's not the throw out bearing? One of the clips might have broken and its getting jammed. It shouldn't stop half way something mechanical is getting jammed.

It never gave any usual signs of the throwout going bad. It just died. Could it be however the fingers on the pressure plate are shot?

I'd operate it by hand and take a peek under the dash. Might want to remove the lower dash cover to see it better. Definitely sounds like something is either getting in the way of the pedal or the spring.
Either that or you might have some severe blockage of fluid somewhere. I've never heard of that happening though.

It could be. Anything is possible. Does it start and run without any noises? One of the springs could have exploded from the clutch disc and stopping the pressure plate from operating normally. Not to sure honestly. I've never hear of a fluid/line blockage thy severe.

It fires up just fine, the engine runs perfectly but I can't get it to disengage the clutch or anything.
