'91 Pickup, No acceleration, No Codes
I have a '91 Pickup, 3.0L V6, A340H A/T, 4WD. It seems to be experiencing transmission trouble. When accelerating from a complete stop the engine revs but the truck just doesnt want to go. I have done a tune-up, and tried to retrieve codes but everything came up normal. I am considering a transmission rebuild. I have worked on A/T before, however im not sure about the rebuild kits, and whether or not they replace the components necessary to help with my problem. Is there anything else I can do? and would a master rebuild kit or master clutch kit even work?

Blackie was experiencing (what it sounds like) the same troubles... ended up being the combo of a clogged fuel filter and a bad AFM...
Best of luck to you!

sounds like torque convertor slip, first check to see if your full od atf, then if you are and still slipping im guessin its time for a new one. make sure its not just your torque convertor before you go putting in a new tranny, im not sure how to tell someone else will though.

One would think that'd be more expensive (and more time consuming) than fixing the problem and although it's a great idea for a swap it's sort of like advising someone to do a SFA swap when they have a slow leak in a tire.
As far as autos go isn't there a filter or something in the pan that can get clogged up? Haven't ever opened one up so I'm not sure, perhaps that's part of the problem?

i just did the swap my auto trans was giving me 10 to 12 mph and then it started slipping, the next day i went to put it in reverse and went no where, so i pulled the motor and trans and for $400 i was able to get a 5 speed trans and all the parts i needed to install a 5 speed,
