I have a 91 pickup DLX and I want to swap the gauge cluster with one from an sr5(with the tach, oil, and voltage). I can't seem to find one. Does anyone know where I can get one? I have done a bit of research on the install and I'm seeing that there is an extra part I need for the oil gauge, so it doesn't get fried. Does anyone know exactly what that part is? Also, will the odometer have to just read what it reads or is there a way I can adjust it to match the miles on the truck. I don't want to do anything illegal though lol. Any help is appreciated!

Get the right oil sender,I believe one type for idiot light,the other type sender is different it's for the gauge in your new cluster.change what you have to the correct sender for gauge,if you don't you will mess up and friends it.

ditto toyota88grandsons. You can get a "sender" at Rockauto for $4(!) to $44. DON'T connect the new cluster to the oil pressure "switch," even for one second.

If you switch from 4 cyl to 6 cyl you have to adjust the tachometer. But it can be done.

Tampering with an odometer is a felony under Federal Law. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/49/32703 It prohibits, basically, doing anything to cause the odometer to display a mileage other than what the "vehicle was driven." You could argue that only the cluster was "driven" what it originally said, and "most" of the vehicle was actually driven the what you re-set it to. Of course, if you're wrong ....

Why would you want to risk that anyway? If you plan to sell it, just explain that you put in a replacement cluster from an old, junked, wreck, and the rest of the truck ain't so bad. If you don't plan to sell it, why do you care?

Other option that i used was that i found a speedo shop online. you send them both old and new cluster, they match the mileage from old to new and issue a cert and a cert sticker on the new cluster. to a true mileage.

Each state is different but some due to age is mileage exempt. You will need the larger Oil Sending Unit, usually runs $30.

Thanks for everyone's help! I found the oil sender on rock auto for $4. I hope it's the right one, said it was for a gauge not a light. Found the cluster on eBay, just gotta wait for the parts then I can tear into it! Thanks for that link to, that helped a lot!

Every time I bought the sender it was $30 it is roughly 2 inch in diameter. The one for the light is roughly 1 inch in diameter. If you post a picture I can tell you if it is the right one.

yes sir that's the one I got! I also wanted to change the lights in it while it's out to led's. I think I might have found some but if anyone can confirm that these are the right one that'd be great so I can go ahead and order them.
