91 4runner will crank but won't start
I have a 91 4runner v6 (3vze) that I had been driving around all last week. I parked it and when I go to start it, all it will do is crank but not start. I have checked the lines to ensure that fuel is getting up to the rail and I have checked the coil/distributor/spark plugs to ensure there is juice coming from them. Any suggestions on what I could be missing?

I remove the efi fuse for 30 seconds and it starts.

I have tried pulling the fuse, that did not work. I have also checked for CEL codes and everything was normal. The cold start injector is not working but the temperature has been above 70 here so that should not be an issue. Any suggestions?

Everything is plugged in. I pulled a spark plug and held it close to a ground while the truck cranked and this produced a steady spark. Distributor, rotor, plugs, and plug wires are all little over a year old. Could my issue lie in the ECU?

Latest development: The 4runner will start when starter fluid is sprayed into the intake. Once I stop spraying, the truck dies so I think it is a fuel issue. If fuel is getting up to the rail this leads me to believe it's an issue with the injectors not getting the required signal. I am going to test the ECU on a buddy's truck tomorrow. The next area I am going to look at is clogged injectors or check the spark plugs to check fuel quality. Any other ideas are welcome.

If you have a mechanics stethoscope, hold the metal rod against the body of an injector while a helper cranks. If it's firing, the clicks will be loud and clear.
If they're not firing, make sure they're getting power when ignition is on. (There will be power on both sides of an unplugged connector if the other injectors are still connected because they're wired in parallel.) Power comes from ignition switch, IG2 term I think. The ecu fires the injectors by grounding them, so check your engine grounds, and make sure ecu terms E01/E02 have a good ground to the engine.
Ecu will also not fire injectors if it doesn't receive IGF from the igniter, but it will actually start off grounding the injectors, then stop doing so within a few seconds if no IGF. So it starts, then stalls. Also, with no IGF you'll usually get a code 14.
You can also check to be sure of the connection between injectors and ecu by verifying power on ecu terms #10 and #20 when ignition is on.
