Hey all, I've recently obtained my first Toyota and I'm really trying to like it....I mean it seems like it could be a good, fun vehicle. It's a 91 with the v6. Not much for power but it is old so....Anyway, the other day I went to start it and it didn't start right up but made a sound kinda like the starter motor didn't catch but then it started....I proceeded to drive it to where I was going and got there, backed into a parking space and left it for the night. The next morning I went to start it and it didn't.

Now, what it sounds like is like the starter wasn't engaging the flywheel. I bought a another starter and put it in. Again, no start. It sounds and feels like there is some exhaust barely making its way out the tailpipe. I really hope its not the timing belt but I'm unsure of how to check that without tearing things apart in the parking lot of my friends apartment....in the cold....and rain....

Any input would be appreciated as I am frustrated to the point of just wanting to sell it as it sits.....
