91 3.0 overheating, waterpump?
my 91 toyota with the 3.0 v6 overheats after about 15 minute's. what i have done so far,
*flushed the cooling system
*removed t stat
*checked oil, water, exhaust for sighns of a blown head gasket and everything looks good
*replaced clutch fan.But it still overheats! so my next step is to replace the waterpump, it doesnt leak or make any wierd noises. I plan on doing this tonight/tommorow. any suggestions,or helpfull hints would be great. thanks Brian
*update, i got it all apart, and realized the thermostat is on the lower rad hose not the upper where i thought it should be, so ill test that and see if its the culprit to my overheating

When did it start overheating? Was anything changed immediately prior to it overheating? Have you and any PO used any type of sealant in the cooling system? If no, my guess would be thermostat OR temp sensor.

it started about a year ago, the trucks been sitting since. we used blue rtv to seal the outlet where the thermostat goes when we removed it. i got the water pump off today and suprisingly it doesnt look like theres anything wrong with it, but now the timing belts off and not even close to being right, thats another story. How could a bad temp sensor cause overheating?
