89 22RE timing cover/water pump/ mess-o-trouble
ok, so, one year ago i re-built my 22RE, didnt do anything special to it after the rebuild. a few days ago, i started having white exhaust smoke, gurgling radiator, over-heating, then the big one: more oil in my radiator than coolant. so, new head gasket, one days work...right?.....warped head needs a decking....two days right? well, its turning to three. just ripped apart my timing cover to put in a new chain guide, and have discovered that there's a long, deep section on the side of the cover that is warn and leaking...leaking pretty bad.
i'm either going to weld the leak shut, or get a new cover.........i'm going with weld because its cheeper by about 150 bucks.....JB weld? pretty sure the chain's not rubbing, and once i get the chain guide back on it wone be doing that anymore...right?
