Angry 88 v6 not transfering enough torq to trough front diff, think diff is slipping??

ok this is weird for me I have never worked on diffs and know nothing about them, I was out 4x4ing today and noticed that the back wheels where doing most of the work, and i was getting wimpy pull from the front.

I decided to do a road side test, I jammed the truck on a hill where I could get a back wheel to break free and had my friend slip the back wheel while i watched the front drive linkage, the front and rear drive shafts where spinning at the same speed so no problem with the transfer case but both front wheels where not moving I checked the cv joints and they where stationary, and i did not hear any weird sounds that would sub-just a broken spline, uasly i can get both the front and rear to break free in 4 low.
not good

I have another diff avaible off of a 91 22re 4 cly pu in fact i have the whole front end i cut off a truck that rolled into a deep canyon (long story, lots of winch work) how do i tell if they are enterchangable?

any help would be appreciated

ok took a day time look, found what i missed, the real problem

Ok the drivers side carrier shaft bearing has poped out of the axle tube......

see pic..........

ok so what now? how do you fix this?

seems that the spline is ok as it does seem to mesh back to the diff..........

but besides the obvious of pressing it back in, whats there to make it stay?

the fsm doesn't really talk about the carrier bearing much other then using a slide hammer adapter to pull and install the shaft alter replacing a snap ring, in my case the bearing is free floating in the flange and the only thing holding the axle shaft and stub in is the snap ring at the very end inside of the diff, this doesn't seem right to me that the bearing should be so free floating in the flange...held by only one wimpy snap ring.........

the bearing its self is smooth and rotates freely, I was able to reinstall the axle with a small hammer, but it doesn't take much to knock it back out, im thinking about drilling a hole in the flange and installing set bolt or a plug weld...........any ideas?
