hey guys im trying to figure out why my truck don't wanna go into first. when im moving it goes in fine. but at a dead stop its a (female dog) and a half to get into gear. putting it into reverse allows me to put it into first without struggle. i don't believe its the famous pedal bracket issue as mine is not broken. i have adjusted the play of the pedal and that helped a few years ago. also i turned down the idle set screw and it helped ALOT but its still very much a pain in my arse. before i set the idle lower i could barely get it into any gear at all... here is a little video i made to help demonstrate the issue:
