88 4runner rear bumper mounts

anyone know what bolt are used to attatch the mounts to the frame...and the bumper to the mounts....(Actually im missing all the nuts and bolts for this job)....im installing stock bumper and mounts......searched but cant find nothing.....or somewere on line that gives you the part number

on mine, the stock bumper attached to the body, not the frame. IIRC it used (4) bolts vertically that all snapped off when trying to remove them

Yep, likely M12-1.25 if there are existing threads. If not, any 12mm bolt will work or 1/2" if you can't find 12mm. At least that is the size on the Tacoma rear bumpers. I never had an OEM bumper on my '85, but use 1/2" bolts to mount my rear bumper.

12mm wrench = 8mm bolt if I remember correctly. I though a 12mm bolt was a bit big for a bumper so flimsily attached to sheet metal . . .

ahhhh $h!t...ya ok....my bad.....thought you meant a 12mm bolt.....i pick up an 8mm bolt seemed to be the right one....but the thread wasnt right at least on the one i picked up...the part number is 91655-40820...but cant find the specs for the bolt...can any one else

do you have a bucket of trail mix bolts? find one that fits then go buy more just like it.................and next time you have extra bolts left over save them, LOL

the bolts are 8mmx1.25x20mm....ummm the runner never had a bumper or brackets on it when i bought it...bought the bumper used but the p.o didn"t have the bolts

You'll find that the majority of the machine bolts Toyota used were:

a) Undersized heads (a Toyota bolt with a 12mm head has a 14mm head at your hardware store)

b) Toyota used semi-fine to fine, never coarse.
