Haha. Brandon let me get some good information in here first before you break it.

Another avenue I may try is hire a freight broker to ship my halfcut. This could prove a bit more risky since I'll need to get a halfcut that has a dismantler willing to compression check the engine and run it. This could save me some money if I bypass the importer but perhaps the savings isn't worth it. I'll need to investigate a bit more.

Unfortunately it's in metric measures. Add not a solid number on torque. But it appears an increase of about 25hp at the wheels.

^^^ i was going to try to come up with something clever and funny, but i haven't had coffee yet, so that's out.
I don't think it has the big game theme, i thought it had more of an Asian feel. So i found the name of the song so you can play it in your 85 and dream of having a solid axle diesel, the perfect Yota(you are half way there). When i drop this lump in my rig, i need to have a theme song.(note to self, Foxy Shazam's 'I Like it', may not be for every crowd)

Name of the song in the video:

Could you get a half cut from Canada? Or would it be a lot farther away?

^^^ Nooe, these engines are not available in North America in production vehicle form. They are available as a marinized version and medium duty Hino trucks(so I've read).

Is this one of those instances where Mexico counts as North America or not?

I don't know if there are halfcuts available from Mexico not sure if it's a viable source for used auto parts.
Mark, my thoughts exactly.

I'll ask him to update, he said the notifications from the site weren't alerting him.

Nothing to really report.
Been hunting down different auction sites to see if it is cheaper to go direct and hire a freight broker (logistics co.) to pick up my purchase and ship it. Wit that in mind, i am also looking for salvage vehicles in Europe also, hopefully a LHD, that would be excellent.

Some 1KDFTV pics

1KZT for comparison

Unfortunately i will probably miss Rausch Creek (June 23)this year due to the engine swap, but we will see.
