87 runner, take a look and offer advice

Looks good but a little pricey. The nice thing is I could turn around and sell the 85 and my current 86 to make some of that money back.
Thoughts? I'll probably go take a look at it this weekend.

$4700 seems a bit high for just the 4Runner but I guess if you would be willing to deal with the 85 it might be worth it. I would shoot for $4K maybe a little less for the two. Wonder if the seller could provide you with a few more pics before you run down there? The only red flags for me, are the rear spool and pacesetter header. With the spool, driving on the street would be no fun. If I'm not mistaken, the header is a cheaper brand? Not sure.
This is interesting because I look on ebay and see two 1st gens for sale and on craigslist here, nothing. Seems the well is slowly drying. Autotrader has a few more, but still, nationwide I think there is 25 or so.

I would say that's a little steep too... hard to say , though. me personally I wouldn't go for it because of the spool - unless you plan to make a hardcore wheeler out of it - in which case you could probably find something that has more/better mods already for a similar price.

Thanks folks. I got some more pictures of it and will post some right after dinner. The inside is nice and factory except for the stereo and there are a couple of tears in the drivers seat, no worries there. I'll be going to look at this one and believe it or not the spool in the rear doesn't bother me. I drove a Scout that was spooled for years and never had any issues. Besides if I end up hating the spool in the rear I'll just drop a Detroit in there.
I'll keep ya'll in the loop on this one
