87' G292 swap options?

Alright guys I'm kinda new with the yota's so any help would be great... The G292 in my 87' just took a dump on me so I was looking for swap out info (possibilities) This is a daily driver (when it's running of course) 22R with the 5Spd. manual trans. currently running 33/12.5r15 on her. I have heard 4.88 would be better with the fact that i'm running the 33's. I have also been having a time trying to find a G292 at any of the local salvage yards, that's one of the reason I was looking for different options, such as direct fit replacements etc. Thanks in advance!!

Just what is a G292 ??

That could be the reason every one gives you a blank look??

Might be hard to find as well

Sorry, G292 is the rear axle code; I think I have found a solution however. Found a G294 which is the same 8.0 gear just has 4 pinions instead of 2 out of a 4runner.

I have not ever had a G294 but looks to me that you could just remove the ABS system.

That is what I was thinking, just cut the speed sensor cable and roll on! I don't see why it should not work. The axle splines look the same as well.

I have swapped G292 rear ends. You just have 4 bolts, the brake lines, and the emergency brake cable which is just a pin with a cotter key. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52287478 It would be easier then a whole rear end swap. The following post on the link gives and idea of what I do.
