87 4x4 radiator fan swap

I have a 1987 4x4 extended cab that came originally with a carburated 22r in it and it had thrown a rod all i could find to replace that with at the time was a 20r carburated! My question is will changing from a clutch fan to a electric make a noticable increase in my power, and does anyone know what I can get a rad fan switch ( not a relay) from that will work in my engine! I did this swap in an 85 4x4 ranger that i had before and it seemed to make a significant power increase in the v6 2.8 ford!

It is not going to give you much of a increase in power just more parts to keep in your truck for when things fail far from home.

If your the type that loves to drive through water over your door sills it is nice to be able to turn the fan off. So hitting the water does not break the fan.

This is the only real reason I have heard of where electric benefits.

You want to increase the performance of the truck eliminate all the extra weight.

Over the years I have seen electric fans cause more harm then benefit .
