does anyone know of a company that makes a rear tire carrier for an 87 toyota 4runner any help is greatly appretiated.

not sure of who sells a bolt on kit but...

i looked into swapping a hilux surf tire carrier on my 3rd gen which didn't pan out due to my parts source falling though. but, it was suggested that one could try to swap one from a 2nd gen. i was at the junk yard today and was eyeballing the fleet of '93 and earlier chevy blazers with the swing out carrier and it got me thinking of giving it a shot. looks pretty easy, and if i tear out some of the rear panels i could see what kind of bracing is used behind the quarter and the tail gate.

just throwing things out there, talking out loud. i'm going back to the yard next week so i could give you a better idea of what i'm talking about and i might bring the camera along too.

These guys have a rearbumper/tirecarrier which looks nice, buts its a little pricey for me.
