86 toyota pickup check engine light
hey everyone, ive been having an issue with my 22re yota lately and I cant get it figured out. I get a cel at constant rpm and as soon as I accelerate, or decal it goes away. it doesn't store a code for me to get a starting point. its got newer plugs, wires, rotor, cap, air filter, o2 sensor. its also getting horrible mileage. around 10 to 13 mpg. does anyone have any idea where I should start? I drive 50 + miles a day for work as a firefighter and the mileage is killing me. any help would greatly be appreciated. I did a search and couldn't come up with much info.

The most common issue I find when getting a check engine light and no code is vacuum leaks. Hoses are dried and cracked and let air in other places instead of thru the air supply like it should be.
The intake system can get clogged up with carbon from the EGR. Taking the Plenum off and giving it a good cleaning and all sensors and hoses would be a good start. I would also try the Sea Foam Treatment thru the brake line if it was me.
