My rear pinion seal ['86 SR5 4X4 Pick-up] is leaking big time. My manual [courtesy of this forum] doesn't paint a very pretty picture of the replacement job; special tool to hold the companion flange, pre-loading the bearing, etc., etc. In addition, a seemingly knowledgeable mechanic told me the flange barrel may have a groove worn in it and '...so good luck getting a replacement.." A few words of advice here would be helpful since I'm going to try to do the replacement myself.
