86 pick up 4x4 issue
so i kinda been ignoring this for a lil but but i need to figure this thing out. This past winter my truck saw the roads only in the snow and in 4 high. in a straight line it works awesome goes through snow no problem. When i cut the wheels either way the front end hesitates to pull forward. Almost like its lurching causing the truck bob up and down. i am assuming it is something in the front end now do i look at the hubs first or the diff. i am about to take get my new tundra this week so i can get down into it in the coming weeks. point me in the correct direction. But it is going to be awesome to have 2 SR5's in the drive way

Considering that the front and rear driveshafts turn the same speed, the average speed of the front and rear axle have to be the same. I'm generalizing a bit here.
However, turning any sort of corner will cause the rear axle to travel around a smaller circle than the front end and since the average speed of the rear axle is the same as the front axle ... you will get 'pushed' straight, to a certain extent.
When you find the front getting pushed straight, let off the throttle and that'll usually let the front pull you around a corner, because of weight distribution and such... again a generalization.
